The next meeting of RFU Council is not until Friday 8th
February 2019. Community Game Board is, currently, meeting on a regular basis, the
next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 19th December
Well Done Yorkshire !! - what a fantastic day, what a fantastic match, what a great crowd !! Thank you to all who attended the
England Women vs Canada Women Quilter International at Castle Park, Doncaster. A crowd of 3,800 was exactly what we needed to show that bringing a
match to the North of England guarantees great success and fantastic support.
We now look forward to welcoming the Red Roses back to Doncaster in the Spring
2019 when, on Sunday 10th
February, they will take on France Women in the 6 Nations Championship. England
v France has always been a top match in this tournament and we hope that we can
top the 4,000 mark in terms of attendance.
RWC Warm up Matches - at the meeting on 23rd November
Council agreed the prices for Rugby World Cup Warm Up matches next year.

In addition England will play Wales in Cardiff on 17/07/19.
Steven Brown – as you will all be aware Steve Brown
has resigned as CEO of the RFU for personal reasons. Without doubt the past six
months have been extremely challenging for Steven and Council respected his
decision to resign, wishing him well for the future.
Nigel Melville, currently Professional Rugby Director, will become
Interim CEO whilst the Board Nominations Committee under the leadership of
Dominic Proctor (Senior Independent Non-Executive Director) begins the process
to appoint a new CEO. This is likely to
be a lengthy process (most people in this type of role are expected to give
nine months notice). The first stage in the process is to appoint a search
company and this will probably be achieved in January 2019.
RFU Annual Report – this is due to be released to the
general public on 04/12/18. Both Jim and Ted will be happy to answer any
questions you have on the Report and Financial Statements.
International Ticket Allocations – Council received and endorsed the
following (as part of a wider paper that considered all sections of the Game).
To be eligible for a ticket allocation a club must :
· It must be a voting member of the RFU.
· Every club receives an initial
allocation of 6 tickets.
· Each club with an aggregate total of 30
players or more at U13 and below
registered on GMS receive an additional
2 tickets.
· The remainder of tickets being allocated as a percentage of the
number of 15-
a-side games (adults to U14s1, male to female) played by the club (over a 2 year
period) of the national total of such
games. The GMS Team Management Tool
will be used to
collect the number of 15-a-side matches a club plays each season.
In addition the following timetable for
implementation was proposed by the International Rugby Ticketing Sub-Committee
(IRTSC)

Based on results of 2018/19
season, IRTSC give clubs,
geographic CBs and referee
societies an indication of their
potential ticket allocations.
|
IRTSC also need to decide if
transition arrangements are
needed and, if so, what those
might be. If potential allocations are so abnormal
or recording results on GMS tile has been poor, IRTSC can review whether to
continue.

County
Championship Regulations - Council
passed revised regulations for the U20, Senior and Senior Women County Championships
giving delegated authority to a small group to finalise the regulations. One
regulation regarded eligibility for all three competitions and stressed that
CBs (Counties) are responsible for monitoring the eligibility of players
included in County sides. Particularly, with the U20s Jason Leonard Cup where a player
can become ineligible if he plays for a Premiership club in the Premiership
Rugby Shield.
The Regulations
should be finalised and distributed to Counties early in the New Year
A Review of the
County Championships will also be undertaken towards the end of this season.
Competitions Development Sub-Committee will discuss Terms of Reference and membership
of this review group in the New Year.
Competitions Review Meetings – Thank you to those who attended the
initial consultation meeting on 8th Nov at West Park Leeds. The Group, under the chairmanship of Jim
Chapman, has had an initial meeting to consider the views expressed at these
meetings. A report will be produced and distributed to all clubs at level 7
(Yorkshire Div. 1) and below during December. A further round of meetings will
then be held during January.
