Yorkshire RFU has two Representatives who are elected by the Clubs in the County to sit on the RFU Council. They also participate in Sub-Committees of the RFU which report to the Community Game Board. Keep checking back on a monthly basis as your Reps keep you up to date with relevant matters from the RFU.

RFU Council is due to meet on Friday, 11th June, followed by the RFU Annual General Meeting. CGB is scheduled to meet again on 23rd June.

Return To Rugby  - Sadly, the Return to Rugby Roadmap has been delayed as the so called Indian Variant has disturbed  the existing plan. Hopefully, the variant can be contained and the Roadmap can resume.  It has been heartening to see a number of games taking place under adaptive rules and there is certainly an appetite to get back to the Game we all love. Many clubs appear to be taking a short break before pre-season training commences and we wish all clubs the best of luck in their endeavours. Let’s hope that when pre-season does begin we will have some summer weather to join it!!

AGM – As you may be aware the RFU AGM is due to take place on 11th June at 5:00 p.m.  this will be a virtual meeting and all member clubs should have received the details of how to register and access the meeting.  If this is not the case then please contact CoSec@rfu.com Most notable at this meeting is that 12 Council Members will, for a variety of reasons, step down from their roles.  This is added to the fact that 10 Council Members stood down last year – this means almost a 3rd of Council has changed over the last two years. This is in response to the Governance Review that was carried out some three years ago.

We hope that as many clubs as possible will “attend” the AGM.

County Championship Review – this is still on-going and is expected to produce an interim report to CGB on 23rd June.  The review group conducted a number of Webinars during May in addition to the survey which closed in mid-May.  Over 6,500 people responded to the survey and the Chair of the Review Group (Dr. Tim Miller) has asked that we pass on his thanks to Yorkshire (players, Coaches and Administrators) who recorded the highest response to the survey. Well done !!
